Pastor Garrett
We intended to celebrate August and September birthdays during yesterday's fellowship. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we needed to adjust our plans on short notice. We'll try again for a birthday Shabbat on September 20th to recognize September's birthdays.
We will not stay to eat after the September 13th service. We will have a shortened service and will be dismissed between 11:30 a.m. and noon.
In a world that increasingly succumbs to the evil spirit of Jew hatred, it is crucial as a disciple of Yeshua to be armed with truth. I'm including links below to timely articles and videos that highlight the roots of Christian antisemitism and answer the question: "Who is Israel?"
Beginning October 18th, our 10:30 a.m. meetings on Saturday mornings will be Torah Club meetings discussing the weekly lesson for Unrolling the Scroll. Torah Club is a members-only discipleship program. If you intend to continue with us after our October transition, you need to sign up for Unrolling the Scroll ASAP. Click the link below to join! (Reminder: You can visit our Monday evening Torah Club meetings now through October to get a feel for the format.)
We are now in the new Jewish month of Elul, the last month of the year on the Jewish calendar. The month of Elul is traditionally a time of introspection, making amends in preparation for the upcoming high holidays of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Follow the links below to read more about this season.
I encourage you to take a little time each day and read from the weekly Torah portion. The below link has commentaries related to the weekly Torah portion along with commentaries on the corresponding apostolic scriptures.
Saturday, September 13th, we will NOT have a potluck fellowship after service.
Sunday, September 14th, 10 a.m. is our next JMF ladies' breakfast at the Urban Bean Coffeehouse.
Saturday, September 20th, we will celebrate our monthly birthday Shabbat for September.
The September 22nd Torah Club meeting is rescheduled to Thursday, September 25th, at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, September 23rd, 6-8 p.m. is our JMF Rosh Hashana celebration. We'll have a prayer service, a HaYesod session, and a potluck. Please plan to bring a dish!
Thursday, September 25th is the Fast of Gedaliah.
Saturday, September 27th, 4:30 p.m., Pastor Garrett and Erika are hosting a fellowship / training for Torah Club members and their spouses.

Did you know about our JMF Songs Archive? We have audio recordings available for all of the psalms, prayers and blessings that we sing together.
This Shabbat, we're planning to sing Psalm 27, Psalm 146, and the Beatitudes. Since these are new to us and to you, I wanted to send a note for everyone so that you have an opportunity to hear the songs ahead of time.
Simply follow the link below to our Resources page and follow the instructions to access the Songs Archive. Once there, you can find the songs we'll sing tomorrow.
Let me know if any questions!
